What an Opportunity
What an Opportunity! An unusual door of opportunity for ministry has been placed before me. In order for me to go through the door, I need your help. Let me explain.
Last January and February, I was the guest speaker on a radio broadcast that covers England and Europe. The missionary, who is a director of the radio station, contacted me to say that the response was such that he decided I should have a regular broadcast.
Radio Neue Hoffnung’s broadcast 24/7 throughout Europe over satellite and around the world over the Internet. Because the station is completely automated, the cost is minimal. They do not have the overhead of a studio or 24/7 personnel.
Nevertheless, there are costs involved. The cost for a daily 30-minute broadcast Monday through Friday is $1.00 per minute, plus a 7% VAT (for us non-Europeans, VAT is a “value added tax”). In other words, the cost of the broadcast is $32.10 per day, $160.50 per week or approximately $700 per month. There will, no doubt, be some additional expenses, but as far as I can determine, $800 to $1000 per month would cover the total cost of the broadcast.
All the labor to produce the broadcast stateside will be done by volunteers. I already have hundreds of messages on tape. A friend of mine, named Bobby Blackman, is currently transposing them to the format necessary for broadcast. Another friend, John McCain, who is a pastor, has people in his church who will edit the tapes and produce the broadcast. All that is needed is money to cover the cost of the airtime.
May I ask you, to please pray about this opportunity? I have had a radio broadcast. I know what can be done through it. I also know the Lord must be in it. Please pray that the Lord will supply all that is needed to take advantage of this opportunity.
May I also ask you, to consider regularly supporting this ministry? A gift of $35 per month would cover the cost of the broadcast for one day a month. Since this mailing is not going to a large number of people, some will need to underwrite a week a month, that is, $160 per month. Of course, if you wish, you may cover the cost for a year ($8346). Frankly, any amount you can give will help. Your gifts will be tax-deductible, but your real benefit will come when you stand before the Lord (see Phil. 4:17).
Please do not send money—yet. At this point, I simply need to know how many would be interested in supporting a broadcast and how much they would commit to giving per month. Please let me know of your interest. Either email me at michael@cocoris.com, call (310) 396-3132, or use the reply feature to this email.
Those who receive “A Piece of My Mind” are those who know me or who want the articles I write. If, for any reason, you do not want any updates about the European broadcast, just let me know and I will see to it that you only receive the articles.
